About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer Cloud Applications and Frontend (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team. This position plays a key role in enhancing and maintaining our neonpulse platform, a critical component in our digital energy solutions. As a Cloud Developer, you will be responsible for developing scalable backend processes, designing and implementing REST and gRPC APIs, and creating intuitive frontend tools using JavaScript and React. Your work will directly contribute to the secure, performant, and standardized processing of IoT and sensor data, enabling real-time insights and operational excellence in our energy management systems.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud architecture, IoT, and energy technology, contributing to the acceleration of the energy transition. The position is initially fixed-term for two years, with potential for extension or permanent employment based on performance and project needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including backend, frontend, operations, and product management, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background complemented by practical experience in cloud and backend development. A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with at least five years of experience in cloud environments and backend systems. Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI, and frontend development using JavaScript and React will be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, structured working style, excellent communication abilities, and fluency in German (C1) and English (B2) are also necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate middleware services for the neonpulse platform, ensuring secure and high-performance processing of telemetry and IoT data between backend systems and third-party platforms.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, enhancing existing services and introducing new functionalities.
• Design, optimize, and maintain database connections, implementing complex SQL queries and utilizing Hibernate and JPA for efficient data access.
• Manage deployment processes and oversee cloud operations within Microsoft Azure, employing Terraform for infrastructure automation and ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI to automate build, test, and deployment workflows, ensuring reliable and consistent software releases.
• Design and implement REST APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces to facilitate reliable service-to-service communication within the platform.
• Create frontend tools and internal applications with JavaScript and React, including dashboards, configuration interfaces, and monitoring solutions to support operational workflows.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support platform evolution, share best practices, and implement innovative solutions that enhance system performance and user experience.
