Are you ready to be at the bleeding edge of Voice AI, building systems that handle millions of real conversations per month where every millisecond counts?
At boost.ai, we are currently scaling up our Voice team. 2026 is the year of Voice!
With a steady 15-20% YoY growth rate at boost.ai, we are the go-to Conversational AI provider for regulated sectors such as finance, the public sector, insurance, and telecom, and we are expanding into many more industries, including healthcare.
We are not just another "wrapper" that popped up overnight.
We are a bona fide AI and Data Science company that has been pioneering machine learning since 2016.
Today, we are building a voice-first platform where millions of conversations will run through, and more than 600 of our virtual agents are live across EMEA and North America. Enterprises like Tryg, DNB, Telenor, and Nordea trust us with their customers.
By joining us, you are stepping into the core of a central, rapidly growing player in the global AI space.
You won't be building theoretical demos or waiting on roadmap slides.
You would be joining early enough to genuinely shape it, and established enough that real customers are already depending on what you ship.
Our team is diverse, dedicated, and a little bit obsessed with getting voice right, and we work hard to make sure everyone here can do the best work of their career.
You will be on the bleeding edge, solving some of the hardest engineering challenges in low-latency computing and genuinely shaping a product that ships directly to massive global enterprises.
The Challenge: Zero Forgiveness
Voice is our biggest bet and fastest-growing product. We are building a smart, real-time voice assistant at the absolute forefront of what is possible.
Your mission will be to take on genuinely hard problems: real-time, low-latency, and accurate voice at enterprise scale, multi-provider LLM routing, and deep telephony integration.
There is zero tolerance for latency or computing delays from users. It is a hard, fast-moving problem space, but this is the kind of engineering where the constraints are real, and the wins are deeply satisfying.
Where you can work:
This role is hybrid and based in one of our European offices: Copenhagen, Oslo, Stavanger, Stockholm, Helsinki, or London.
Note: Eligibility to live and work in the Nordics or the UK is required. We are not able to support relocation from outside this region or fully remote arrangements for this position
What you will be doing
We are looking for a Software Engineer to help take our voice platform to the next level, so you will have a high impact on genuinely shaping the architecture of our voice-first platform, with the autonomy and trust to make a tangible difference.
You will be working closely with the brightest minds in our Voice, Core Platform, ML, and Customer Excellence teams to bring cutting-edge multimodal conversational AI to the world.
You will
- Build and operate the voice platform:
Develop and scale the core of our real-time voice platform, including WebRTC media handling, STT/TTS orchestration, and production-grade observability.
- Own real-time LLM routing:
Evolve our multi-region routing layer for voice (OpenAI Realtime, Azure OpenAI, etc.), engineering explicit trade-offs between cost, latency, and quality.
- Pioneer voice-native features:
Lead new voice capabilities such as barge-in, interruption handling, language switching, voice billing, and the voice side of our avatar pipelines.
- Shape the architecture:
Contribute to platform-level decisions on inference, multi-region deployment, and integration with CCaaS and telephony providers.
- Raise the bar on automation:
Champion strong testing, CI/CD, and observability for a latency-critical workload where even small regressions are immediately visible to customers.
What we expect from you
Requirements (The Non-Negotiables):
- 5+ years of experience working with Python, SQL, and API integrations in production systems.
- Hands-on experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting high-availability services on AWS or Azure using modern CI/CD pipelines.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent in English
Blow us away (Nice-to-haves):
- Comfort with the realities of low-latency systems. You know how to debug latency tails, handle back-pressure, and design for network instability.
- Experience with one or more of WebRTC, telephony integrations, CCaaS platforms, speech systems, or other real-time communication systems
- Prior experience in voice or conversational AI is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working with diverse teams, customers, and partners across multiple disciplines.
- A keen interest in the fast-evolving world of conversational and voice AI.
The Team & Perks
We work hard on tough challenges, but fun is one of our actual core values.
We are an opinionated, high-trust team that celebrates wins together (our annual Boost Camp every October is a massive highlight!).
To back you up, we offer a comprehensive range of employee benefits designed to support your overall well-being and allow you to do the absolute best work of your career.
Ready to build the future of Voice AI?
We would love to hear from you.
