WE ARE LOOKING FOR Senior Android Build Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Android Developer – Build & Tooling to join a new Unikie opportunity focused on Android build optimization. The role focuses on aligning and consolidating Gradle versions to improve build efficiency, reduce complexity, and support a more stable build environment.
This position is ideal for an Android engineer with strong build tools and DevOps experience. A pure DevOps profile is not the primary preference; we are looking for someone who understands Android development and the Android build ecosystem deeply.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for a Senior Android Developer – Build & Tooling to join a new Unikie opportunity focused on Android build optimization. The role focuses on aligning and consolidating Gradle versions to improve build efficiency, reduce complexity, and support a more stable build environment.
This position is ideal for an Android engineer with strong build tools and DevOps experience. A pure DevOps profile is not the primary preference; we are looking for someone who understands Android development and the Android build ecosystem deeply.
Required Qualifications
- Senior Android engineering background with strong build tooling experience.
- Deep knowledge of the Android build ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with Gradle and Gradle version alignment/consolidation.
- Experience with Soong build system.
- Familiarity with Bazel, Buck, or similar build tools.
- Experience with large-scale local and cloud-based builds.
- Strong CI/CD and build optimization experience.
- Strong Git skills, including repo tools, submodules, and git-lfs.
- Proficient with Linux, Bash, and Python.
- Practical DevOps experience from an Android/build engineering perspective.
- GitLab CI experience.
- Docker or Podman experience.
- Experience tuning builds in constrained cloud environments.
- Experience modernizing legacy or script-heavy build pipelines.
