We are currently looking for a Backend Engineer to join one of our global clients in Bucharest, Romania in a hybrid working model (3 days/week office attendance).

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by following best practices and development standards
• Develop, test, and document Java-based software components according to business and technical requirements
• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
• Write unit tests to ensure robustness, reliability, and edge-case coverage
• Participate in peer reviews for solution designs and code quality improvements
• Prepare and maintain technical design documentation
• Support release planning and deployment activities
• Collaborate closely with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Work in a scaled Agile environment using Scrum/Kanban methodologies
• Collaborate with global and multicultural teams across different time zones

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework
• Experience with Quarkus is a strong plus
• Strong understanding of RESTful services and APIs
• Experience with Spring Security, JWT, and OAuth
• Knowledge of certificates, digital signatures, and encryption algorithms
• Good understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles
• Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Collections
• Understanding of Microservices Architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Experience working with Cloud platforms/infrastructure, preferably GCP
• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Adobe Experience Manager knowledge is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global multicultural environment
