On-site collaboration with the software, mechanical design and manufacturing team.

At Pek Automotive in Slovenia we design and build advanced autonomous electric systems and robotic vehicles used in demanding real-world environments such as agriculture and rescue operations. We are currently looking for a Head of Software Design Department.

What you will work on:

• Lead, plan, organize, and coordinate the software development team and processes
• Oversee software design activities and approve technical plans and architectures
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and quality departments to ensure seamless software integration
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members on complex development challenges
• Participate in recruitment processes (technical interviews, candidate evaluations)
• Identify and implement process improvements within the software development team
• Monitor and report on development progress (daily, weekly, monthly reports)
• Stay up to date with latest technologies and industry trends
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and internal company standards

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (VII level) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Experience in team leadership or technical coordination
• Strong programming skills in C and/or Python
• Experience with embedded systems (preferred)
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Experience with Git version control systems
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking (advantage)
• Experience in software architecture design
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Good command of English language
