Project Manager

LUXUAV designs and manufactures advanced UAV systems in Luxembourg for commercial and security applications across Europe. The systems developed here operate under real constraints: technical, manufacturing, and regulatory, and are intended for sustained operational use.

The company is growing quickly. R&D activity is increasing, projects are overlapping, and more development work is moving consistently into production. To support this phase, we are hiring an experienced Project Manager to take end‑to‑end responsibility for R&D programmes, from early development through industrial readiness.

This role reports to the Production Manager and works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of R&D project execution, from planning through pilot build phases and production handover.
• Define and maintain realistic project plans covering scope, timelines, resources, cost, and risk across multiple concurrent projects.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, test, and quality activities.
• Lead project and technical reviews focused on decisions, trade‑offs, and problem resolution.
• Identify delivery risks early, drive mitigation, and escalate when timelines, cost, or outcomes are at risk.
• Ensure engineering documentation, configuration control, and traceability support production, certification, and customer acceptance.
• Lead the transition from development to production, ensuring BOMs, work instructions, and quality criteria are complete and usable.

Skills & experience

• Engineering degree (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or related).
• 5+ years managing hardware‑driven or systems‑level projects in aerospace, robotics, defence, or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of engineering development, testing, and industrialization.
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams and hold delivery accountability.
• Experience managing schedules, trade‑offs, and risk in environments where delays have real cost or operational impact.
• Practical experience with project tracking and documentation tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Excel).
• Comfortable working with engineering documentation, configuration control, and PLM environments.
• Fluent in English.
• Must be a national of a NATO member country or an approved NATO Indo‑Pacific partner (Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, or Ukraine).

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with UAVs or complex mechatronic systems.
• Experience in a fast‑growing or scaling organization.
• Practical experience working with Agile or hybrid delivery approaches.
