About Gate

Gate ranks Top 5 worldwide in crypto trading volume and users. We're fueling cryptocurrency adoption and fighting for true financial freedom. Ready to join the blockchain revolution transforming global finance?

The Role

This is a part-time position (3 days per week). Candidates must be currently residing in Australia and hold full, unrestricted working rights — we are unable to offer visa sponsorship or support for this role.

The successful candidate must also be eligible to be nominated (and maintain standing) as a Responsible Manager on an Australian AFSL.

This role exists to provide senior compliance leadership and governance oversight as we scale our operations in Australia's regulated financial markets. You will report directly into the CCO and play a pivotal part in making key strategic decisions that ensure we meet regulatory expectations while supporting sustainable business growth.

As an autonomous early leadership position in a pre-licensed environment, your contributions will have significant impact on building robust, compliant operations and shaping how we engage with regulators going forward.

What You'll Do

• Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, ensuring strong governance and demonstrating organisational competence across all AFSL obligations.

• Oversee AML/CTF compliance obligations in conjunction with the CCO, including program maintenance, AUSTRAC reporting, and transaction monitoring governance.

• Strengthen the compliance and risk management framework, embedding robust controls that align with ASIC and AUSTRAC requirements while supporting efficient execution.

• Collaborate with global stakeholders to assess regulatory implications and introduce new products and services that meet the Australian market and regulatory standards under the evolving digital assets regime.

What We're Looking For

⚠️ Before applying, please confirm:

✅ You are currently residing in Australia

✅ You hold full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship required or available)

✅ You are available to commit to 3 days per week

Must-haves

• Minimum 7 years' experience in financial services compliance or regulatory affairs at an ASIC-regulated AFSL holder.

• Strong background in TradFi, ideally within brokers, custody providers, institutional banking, or similar regulated entities, combined with solid operational understanding.

• Familiar with the Digital Assets Framework Act 2025 and its implications for AFSL holders.

• Eligible to be nominated as a Responsible Manager under ASIC's RG 105, with relevant qualifications under RG 146 across one or more applicable product categories (securities, FX, derivatives, custody, or NCPF).

• Hands-on AML/CTF program ownership, including SMR lodgement, transaction monitoring oversight, and AUSTRAC annual reporting.

Strong-to-haves

• Prior experience working at ASIC in licensing, markets, or enforcement roles.

• Background in crypto or digital assets.

• Previous nomination as a Responsible Manager on an existing AFSL (highly regarded but not essential).

Why Join Us

• Work on real, complex risk challenges at one of the world's leading crypto exchanges — your work directly helps protect the integrity of a platform used by millions of users globally.

• Flexible, part-time engagement (3 days/week) designed for senior professionals seeking meaningful work without a full-time commitment.
