DevOps Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON


Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 2 days on-site, 3 days work from home (could possibly change to 4 days on-site); anchor days are flexible


Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 4 months (extension possible — based on business needs and performance)
  • Pay Rate: $90.00–$100.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours — 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day; overtime possibility — project dependent
  • Travel Requirements: Not required
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

Seeking a DevOps Specialist with deep Azure experience (Azure App Service Premium, Managed Redis, Blob Storage) and proven CI/CD skills. Prefer candidates with TD experience and hands-on EDP GT exposure; strong IaC and automation skills using Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Responsibilities include designing and operating resilient, high-availability systems (active/active, blue/green), optimizing pipelines with Jenkins/GitHub Actions and Git, and implementing and using observability tools such as Dynatrace or Datadog. Experience automating Angular and Java workflows and accelerating AI development within CI/CD pipelines is a strong plus.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and operate resilient, high-availability systems (active/active, blue/green deployment patterns)
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/GitHub Actions and Git
  • Implement and use observability tools such as Dynatrace or Datadog
  • Automate Angular and Java workflows within CI/CD pipelines
  • Accelerate AI development within CI/CD pipelines
  • Support Azure release deployments and CI/CD operations for the DevOps team
  • Hit deliverables within the timelines and be available for project duties

Required Skills
  • 8 years of experience within a Developer, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps Specialist role
  • 5 years of DevOps experience
  • Deep knowledge of GitHub Actions or Jenkins or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge of cloud engineering/development within Azure Cloud
  • Knowledge of deployment patterns — Blue/Green or Active/Active
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, well organized, able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Attention to detail; self-starter and adaptable

Preferred Skills
  • Prior TD, banking, or fintech experience
  • Knowledge of Azure App Service
  • Experience writing CI/CD workflows
  • Scripting experience — Python or Bash
  • Knowledge of AI-driven development
  • Strong IaC and automation skills using Ansible and Python
  • Experience with Azure App Service Premium, Managed Redis, and Blob Storage
  • Experience with Dynatrace or Datadog observability tools
  • Experience automating Angular and Java workflows
  • Hands-on EDP GT exposure

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Azure certifications required

Required Experience
  • 8 years of overall experience within a Developer, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps Specialist role
  • 5 years of DevOps experience

Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Prior TD, banking, or fintech experience
  • Hands-on EDP GT exposure
  • Experience accelerating AI development within CI/CD pipelines

Work Environment
  • Team Size: 10 people
  • Meetings: Approximately 2 hours per day on average
  • Interaction: Majority internal, some external interaction
  • Customer Data Access: No
  • Training: TD formal onboarding; expected to hit the ground running
