This Reports Directly into the the CTO ..... Not a checkbox-chaser. Not someone who disappears into frameworks.

NON NEGOTIABLES:

🔐 Compliance Frameworks — Must have LIVED it, not just know it

• SOC 2 Type II — built it, maintained it, presented it to enterprise customers
• PCI DSS — if they're touching payments in any way, this is mandatory
• ISO 27001 is a strong plus but SOC 2 + PCI is the fintech baseline

**The context:**

Our security maturity is already reasonably solid — good people, good tooling, solid processes. But right now, too much of it lives in our CTO's head. We need to change that.

**What you'll own:**

→ Building a secure SaaS platform we can confidently take into enterprise sales cycles

→ Creating clear, verifiable evidence of compliance and security posture for customer audits and reviews

→ Reducing dependency on the CTO by building a real security function that stands on its own

→ Balancing near-term risk reduction with long-term security strategy

**You're the right person if you've:**

✔ Led security at a SaaS company scaling into enterprise

✔ Navigated SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks — without letting them consume the business

✔ Built audit trails and evidence packs that actually hold up under enterprise scrutiny

✔ Operated as both a strategic leader AND a hands-on builder

✔ Reduced CTO/founder dependency by institutionalising security across teams

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a mature, fully-staffed security org. This is for a builder — someone who thrives in an environment where they get to shape the function, set the standards, and make security a competitive advantage.
