As a Project Manager Engineering, you will take the lead on highly complex maritime engineering projects, ranging from naval vessels and submarines to offshore structures. You will be responsible for delivering multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet technical requirements, timelines, and budget expectations.
In this role, you will act as the key interface between the client and the engineering team, guiding multidisciplinary teams through all project phases. You will combine technical insight with strong project management skills, while also contributing to business development and tender processes. What you will do
- Lead and manage multiple engineering projects within maritime and offshore environments
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across all design phases
- Develop project budgets, monitor progress, and manage performance using tools such as Dynamics365
- Approve hours, manage scope changes, and identify additional or reduced work
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
- Support or lead tender processes and contribute to winning new projects
- Monitor contractual obligations and take action where needed
- Promote quality, safety, and environmental awareness within project teams

Our client is a renowned engineering consultancy firm in the greater Rotterdam area, with a deep-rooted history of providing naval architecture and marine engineering solutions for the development of naval ships as well as complex offshore vessels and floating installations. With a real passion for technology these engineers are involved in the full engineering cycle, working together on delivering concept, basic, and detail designs and developing new technologies.

What you already have
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in a technical field such as Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Aerospace, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience managing (complex) engineering projects
- Around 10 years of overall experience in engineering in the maritime industry
- Project management certification (e.g. IPMA, Prince2, or similar)
- Strong understanding of complex engineering environments, preferably within offshore or defence/naval sectors
- Experience working with tools such as MS Office, MS Project, and Dynamics365
- Fluent in English, Dutch is a big plus!
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to balance technical, commercial, and stakeholder interests
- EU citizenship is a must due to the nature of some military projects
