Back End Developer

At REI Development Services, we’re looking for a Senior Zendesk/Backend Developer to take ownership of complex backend systems across our international iGaming platform, with a strong focus on Zendesk integrations and customer communication services. Beyond building and evolving these core modules, you’ll contribute to platform scalability, backend architecture, and engineering excellence across our technology landscape.

💼 What You'll Bring:

• 4/5+ years of experience in backend development with strong OOP knowledge and understanding of Design Patterns.
• Strong hands-on experience with PHP 8.4.
• Proven experience working with Laravel 12.
• Experience working with FilamentPHP.
• Solid experience with Node.js 22 and NestJS.
• Experience integrating and working with Sunshine Conversations.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Solid experience with MySQL and SQL query optimization.
• Experience working with Redis for caching and queue handling.
• Experience with Docker in development environments.
• Good understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience working in scalable, high-availability environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
• Previous experience within iGaming or high-traffic platforms.

📋 Your Responsibilities:

Backend Development & Integrations

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using PHP 8.4, Laravel 12, FilamentPHP, Node.js 22, and NestJS.
• Build and maintain integrations with Zendesk and Sunshine Conversations.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and backend services.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend systems.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence

• Contribute to backend architecture decisions and implementation planning.
• Promote clean code principles, maintainable architecture, and best engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across backend systems and development workflows.

Quality, Performance & Reliability

• Write clean, testable, and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Monitor and improve system performance, stability, and scalability.
• Contribute to testing, debugging, and production issue resolution.

Continuous Improvement

• Support CI/CD processes and automation initiatives.
• Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies that improve developer productivity and platform performance.
• Help identify and reduce technical debt across the platform.
