Senior Systems Engineer (DSP) - C/C++ / MATLAB / Python

We're partnered with a global semiconductor organisation with offices around the globe. They need a Senior Systems Engineer with DSP experience to join their team, working 100% onsite in the Silicon Valley of Europe - Cork, in Ireland.

This is a highly technical, end-to-end role working on advanced sensor systems used across consumer electronics, IoT, automotive, and emerging technologies such as AR/VR. You will be involved across the full product lifecycle, from early research through to commercial deployment.

You will work closely with global systems, software, and integration teams, contributing to the design and optimisation of sensor algorithms and embedded systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Developing and validating sensor algorithms using MATLAB and Python
• Translating algorithms into efficient embedded implementations (C/C++)
• Optimising performance across power, memory, and computational constraints
• Leading system design activities from requirements through to implementation
• Producing clear technical documentation and communicating results to stakeholders
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical direction

What they're looking for:

• Strong background in systems engineering, DSP, or related fields
• Experience with digital signal processing concepts such as filter design and LTI systems
• Solid programming skills in C/C++ and experience with MATLAB or Python
• Understanding of linear algebra, probability, and statistics
• Exposure to machine learning concepts is beneficial
• Experience working with embedded systems or low-power devices
• Knowledge of MEMS or inertial sensors is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

We are open to candidates with a range of experience levels, typically 3–10+ years, including those with advanced degrees (MSc or PhD).
