About The Role
Most commercial questions arrive wrapped in language that obscures the real choices. Business leadership teams often struggle to see the actual economics of their business because the data is buried in static spreadsheets or overly complex reports. This creates a tension where decisions are made based on momentum rather than evidence. We need to build tools that strip away that complexity and show where capital is actually trapped.
As a Junior UI Engineer, you will help us turn rigorous economic models into clear, interactive interfaces. You will not be building marketing landing pages. Instead, you will be focused on creating functional, logical software that helps our consultants and clients visualize downside risks and test their assumptions under pressure. This is a role for someone who values clarity and utility over decorative design.
About Blue Oak
People who succeed at Blue Oak Consulting are generally those who are comfortable with being wrong and being corrected. We are a skeptical group, and we expect everyone to be able to defend their work with facts rather than feelings. You will do well here if you prefer a direct conversation to a long meeting and if you enjoy the challenge of making complicated data look simple. We value people who are curious about how the world works and who want to build things that are useful first and foremost. This is a place for engineers who care about the "why" behind their code as much as the "how."
