SENIOR AUTOMATION QA ENGINEER (PLAYWRIGHT)

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer with Playwright for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading public safety technology company. The company offers a unified, cloud-native platform that supports every aspect of public safety operations. You'll join the collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in ensuring the quality of modern web applications by designing, building, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, with a particular emphasis on Playwright. This role is ideal for a highly skilled automation engineer who thrives in automation-first environments, enjoys working closely with developers, and is passionate about improving product quality through scalable and maintainable testing solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience with automation testing
• 3+ years of commercial experience with Playwright
• Strong expertise in frontend (UI) test automation for web applications
• Test case management experience with Testmo is a strong plus
• Proven track record of building or scaling automation frameworks from scratch
• Experience with TypeScript/JS in test automation
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST clients)
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing strategies, and best practices
• Experience working in Agile environment
• Upper-intermediate level of English or higher

• Knowledge of performance and security testing
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (Vue, React, Angular)
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Automate end-to-end user journeys, UI workflows, and regression scenarios for modern web applications.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality releases.
• Participate in requirements analysis, test planning, and acceptance criteria definition.
• Execute and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive test automation strategy and best practices, with a strong focus on maintainability and performance.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
• Contribute to functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Support production releases and post-deployment validation.
• Maintain and manage test cases (Testmo experience preferred).
