Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and operate Cisco 9000 series switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate firewalls, Aruba access points, and Aruba ClearPass.
  • Set up, manage, and troubleshoot VPN solutions (IPSec/SSL) across Fortigate and Palo Alto platforms.
  • Perform network setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high availability and security.
  • Support network tech refresh projects, including hardware/software upgrades and migrations.
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices, including firewall policies, NAC, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and system integration with network infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Provide on-call support and perform patches/upgrades during approved maintenance windows.
  • Assist with system-related tasks such as Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), and backup solutions when required.
  • Participate in audits, compliance reporting, and inventory management using ITSM tools.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco 9000 series switches, Palo Alto firewalls, FortiGate firewalls, Aruba access points, and Aruba ClearPass.
  • Strong knowledge of VPN setup and management (IPSec, SSL).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux/Unix systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix).
  • Experience with backup/recovery tools (e.g., Commvault, NetBackup).
  • Exposure to patch management tools (e.g., BMC, WSUS).
  • Prior work experience in a regulated environment preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
  • Palo Alto Networks certifications (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE).
  • Fortinet certifications (e.g., NSE4, NSE5).
  • Aruba certifications (e.g., ACMA, ACCA, ClearPass Specialist).
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE).
  • VMware/Nutanix certifications (VCP, NCP).
  • ITIL Foundation.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively under pressure.
