About The Hiring Team

Game Research Center(GRC) is a department focusing on game industry study, game analysis, game design research, data analysis and game development supporting. We’re one of the world’s leading research facility in game industry, building a global knowledge tank to help our teams make better decisions. We’re looking for innovative and passionate team members who love all kinds of games and have insight about the challenging global market.

What The Role Entails

  • Perform deep research about global gaming market. Provide insightful feedback, identify potential genre opportunity and support decision making in overseas publishing.
  • Prepare holistic content analysis, assessing a game's merits across all key components for potential publishing opportunity in global market. (game design, game mechanics, balance, art, game economy, total addressable audience, etc.)
  • Compile regular reports on specific genres or industry trends via infographics, visuals, and research synthesis.
  • Monitor consumer trends across the PC, Console, and Mobile landscape and share findings with internal teams.
  • Extensive playtest and review games submitted to Tencent for evaluation across a variety of platform and genres, as well as all notable new market releases.
  • Perform due diligence on game development studios globally and prepare comprehensive reports covering the team's strengths and weaknesses. Give insightful comments on investment, co-development and other potential opportunities.

Who We Look For

  • Education: University Degree in a relevant field (or currently enrolled). No prior industry experience required.
  • Gamer DNA: Strong passion for interactive entertainment and deep understanding of gameplay mechanics. REQUIRED: Please list games you currently play or enjoy. Reviews/comments on any game are appreciated.
  • Global Mindset: Strong interest in global gaming markets and eager to learn about overseas development culture and workflows.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent research, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills. Comfortable communicating in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Language: Fluent English, Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
