We are looking for an AI Engineer to join a fast-growing AI consultancy based in Amsterdam that embeds engineering teams directly with mid-market clients across the Netherlands.

About the Position

Our client is an Amsterdam-based AI consultancy that helps established companies — from construction firms to investment houses — integrate AI into how they actually work. They don't deliver slide decks; they build the system on-site and stay until the client's team is running it themselves.

You will join their technical bench as a nearshore AI Engineer, working embedded on client engagements. The stack is Python, LLM frameworks, vector databases, and cloud infrastructure. The bar is production quality, not proof-of-concept.

What you'll build

• RAG pipelines and knowledge retrieval systems trained on client documents and data
• Multi-step AI agents that automate business workflows — order processing, reporting, analysis
• LLM integrations within existing business systems: ERPs, CRMs, internal portals
• Evaluation frameworks to measure output quality, latency, and hallucination rates
• Prototypes that move fast — and production systems that hold up

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of software engineering, with 1–2 years working on AI/LLM systems in production
• Strong Python — clean, maintainable code, not just notebooks
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Chroma)
• Cloud experience — Azure, AWS, or GCP; you know how to deploy and monitor
• You've shipped something real: a portfolio project, an internship deliverable, or a production system
• Working proficiency in English is a must have — you'll collaborate directly with Dutch-side teams

Location & Travel
