Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java‑based backend services and APIs supporting digital wallet functionality.
• Implement and evolve payment‑related APIs, including card lifecycle actions such as token creation, deletion, and status updates.
• Integrate backend services with mobile front‑end applications and external payment platforms in a secure and scalable manner.
• Work embedded within ING’s internal development teams, adhering to ING engineering standards, security requirements, and delivery processes.
• Support testing, debugging, and production readiness, including resolving issues identified during end‑to‑end and conformity testing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through code reviews, refactoring, and performance optimization.

Experience level

4–7 years of professional backend development experience, with strong focus on Java‑based enterprise systems
