About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Software Developer (m/w/d) to join our team at HPC AG, either in Harburg (Schwaben) or Lübeck. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals or career changers with relevant backgrounds to contribute to the development and enhancement of our project information system, Prins.NET. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a vital platform that enables comprehensive project planning, management, documentation, and analysis. You will oversee the entire software stack, from database design and business logic to user interface development, ensuring seamless integration with internal systems and continuous improvement of the application.

About The Role

Qualifications
- Multiple years of professional experience in software development, particularly with VB.NET (or strong knowledge of C# with willingness to work in VB.NET).
- Solid expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL, including index optimization, query analysis, and performance tuning.
- Experience in frontend development using WinForms, WPF, and/or ASP.NET.
- Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code with clear separation of concerns, meaningful abstractions, and adherence to best practices such as Option Strict On.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and integration with Microsoft Graph API.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Structured, self-directed working style with the ability to analyze challenges thoroughly and develop sustainable solutions.
- Excellent command of German and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities
- Continuously develop and maintain Prins.NET in VB.NET within the .NET Framework and .NET Core environments.
- Design, optimize, and maintain the SQL Server database schema, including writing stored procedures, T-SQL scripts, and implementing indexing strategies for performance enhancement.
- Take responsibility for the full development lifecycle, from data modeling and backend logic to designing intuitive user interfaces tailored to user requirements.
- Integrate internal systems and external interfaces, such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Graph API, ensuring smooth data exchange and system interoperability.
- Refactor existing codebases to modernize and improve sustainability, focusing on incremental enhancements and technical debt reduction.
- Implement quality assurance measures through code reviews, automated tests, and comprehensive technical documentation to ensure high software standards.
- Collaborate closely with business units to understand their needs, challenge requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
