Senior Dotnet Developer

About the role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Full Stack .NET Developer to join a State Government client on a long-term contract engagement. The successful candidate will support and enhance a large portfolio of business-critical applications within an enterprise environment.

This role will involve a mix of application support, software development, system upgrades, deployment automation, security remediation, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work across modern technologies in a collaborative agile environment while helping maintain reliable and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full stack development and support across enterprise applications
• Maintain and enhance .NET applications within a managed services environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues raised by users and stakeholders
• Deliver robust, scalable, and testable software solutions
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in continuous improvement and software enhancement initiatives
• Support system upgrades, deployment automation, and security remediation activities
• Work directly with stakeholders to investigate and resolve application issues
• Contribute to agile delivery practices and collaborative team activities
• Assist with application performance tuning and optimisation

Highly desirable criteria

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within government environments
• Previous experience working within large ICT organisations or complex IT projects
• Experience with application performance tuning and optimisation
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools including JIRA and Confluence
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable criteria

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications
• Exposure to deployment automation and technical road mapping
• Experience working within agile delivery environments
• Understanding of risk remediation and system upgrade activities

Skills and experience

• Minimum 7 years commercial full stack development experience
• Strong experience with .NET Framework and C#
• General web development experience including JavaScript frameworks
• Proven ability to deliver high quality and testable solutions
• Strong troubleshooting and technical investigation capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work directly with stakeholders to resolve application issues
• Experience working within agile software development environments

Experience with:

• Angular 10+
• TypeScript
• Entity Framework
• SQL Server and T-SQL
• Azure Cloud solutions
• GIT and branching models
