Rezzil builds performance products across B2B, B2C and gaming for sport, spanning mobile, VR and console. Our technology is used by elite teams and organisations to train, analyse and engage athletes and fans.
exar.live is our ingest and data transport platform for live game data, powering real-time analysis tools across mobile, VR and broadcast. Together, we’re building a connected ecosystem of products driven by data, simulation and increasingly, computer vision and AI.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Unity Developer with deep experience in animation-driven gameplay systems to take ownership of core player and ball interaction mechanics across our mobile products.
This role sits at the intersection of gameplay, animation and performance. You’ll work closely with designers and animators to build responsive, high-fidelity systems that feel as good as they look, while remaining performant on mobile devices.
While the primary focus is mobile, some systems will extend into VR and other platforms where relevant.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and develop core gameplay systems focused on player movement and interaction
- Implement animation-driven character movement using Unity’s animation systems and root motion
- Build and refine player AI, pathfinding and behavioural systems
- Develop ball and player interaction mechanics with a strong focus on realism and responsiveness
- Work extensively with Mecanim, humanoid rigs, blend trees, animation states and transitions
- Collaborate closely with animators and designers to translate creative intent into in-game behaviour
- Take features from prototype through to polished, production-ready systems
- Optimise systems for mobile performance across CPU, memory and animation constraints
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ professional experience working with Unity and C#
- Strong experience building animation-driven gameplay systems
- Deep understanding of Unity Mecanim, avatar systems and root motion workflows
- Experience developing for mobile platforms and understanding their constraints
- Solid experience with player movement, AI, pathfinding and interaction systems
- Ability to own and deliver complex gameplay features independently
- A portfolio or shipped titles demonstrating relevant hands-on experience
Nice to have
- Experience working on sports or character-driven gameplay
- Exposure to VR development (not essential, but beneficial)
- Experience working with real-time or data-driven systems
The kind of person who thrives here
- Comfortable owning a major gameplay area end-to-end
- Cares deeply about feel, responsiveness and polish
- Enjoys working at the intersection of animation and gameplay
- Pragmatic about performance and platform constraints
- Collaborative, but able to operate independently when needed
Application process
If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. Please include links to any relevant finished projects, shipped titles, portfolio work, GitHub repositories or code samples that help showcase your experience and approach to development.
Depending on experience and the material submitted, we may ask shortlisted candidates to complete a short technical assessment as part of the interview process.
What we offer
- Competitive salary.
- Share options.
- 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays.
- Christmas closure (3 additional days).
- Flexible working and hybrid options.
