Android Developer

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is looking for an Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for Android devices, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with external data sources and APIs
• Perform unit testing for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability
• Identify and fix bugs while improving application performance
• Continuously explore and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Android development or similar role
• Proven experience building Android applications and publishing apps
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin
• Experience working with Android SDK
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and working with JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Understanding of mobile architectures, trends, and best practices
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Espresso
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern Android development tools and frameworks
• Experience optimizing application performance and memory management
• Exposure to Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of architectures such as MVVM or Clean Architecture

• Availability to work onsite
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
