Senior Backend Engineer (Go) Remote-First - Up to £130,000 + Bonus + Equity

A rapidly scaling cybersecurity company already operating at unicorn status and projected to reach circa $400M ARR by the end of 2026 is continuing to expand its engineering presence across the UK.

With around 450 employees globally and a profitable foundation, they’re now hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to help drive a major evolution of their platform architecture. They have plans to hire 200 people globally this year having been founded circa 7 years ago.

The engineering team is rebuilding critical systems from the ground up with an AI-native approach, migrating services into Go, and pushing platform performance toward sub-50ms latency. This is a highly technical environment focused on distributed systems, scalability, and real-world performance engineering.

The role:

• Building and scaling backend services in Go

• Designing distributed systems capable of handling high-throughput workloads

• Driving low-latency architecture and performance optimisation initiatives

• Contributing to the modernisation and rewrite of core platform services

• Working closely with infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams

• Influencing technical direction and backend engineering standards across the organisation

What they’re looking for:

• Strong commercial experience with Golang

• 5 + years building distributed, scalable backend systems

• Solid understanding of concurrency, systems design, and performance tuning

• Background working on low-latency or high-throughput applications

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth engineering environments

• Interest in AI-enabled development practices and modern engineering workflows

The package is up to £130,000 base salary, plus a strong bonus and equity
