Job Purpose
The role is responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for corporate financial transactions. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating financing strategies and raising capital for clients. The role is responsible for managing transactions across DCM, ECM, fund structuring and corporate advisory, with focus on both public markets and private placements. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in DCM, ECM, Syndicated Financing, M&A and deal structuring, strong client relationships, and a proven track record of successful transactions. The incumbent must possess experience of Islamic capital markets especially sukuks and other Shariah compliant financing structures.
Role & Responsibilities
1- Business Development Strategy
- Build relationships by providing sophisticated financial solutions tailored to the clients' needs and acting as a content provider on market trends
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry contacts and market knowledge.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance on Investment Banking transactions.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
- Monitor industry developments and competitive landscape to formulate business strategy.
2- Advisory Transactions execution, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Market Research
- Handle the execution of transactions, including IPOs, private placements, syndications, financial restructuring, project finance and buyouts.
- Ensure that proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards,
- Manage the end-to-end process of financial and operational Due diligence
- Lead the preparation of pitch books, financial models, and transaction documents.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and other internal and external teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Serve as the expert on regulatory, financial and complex strategic issues relating to corporate finance transactions
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
3- Performance Management and Brand Positioning
- Achieve revenue and profitability targets for the IB unit and manage budgets and financial performance, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Position the bank as a top Islamic Investment Banking Solutions provider in Oman and the GCC region
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably in Finance/Economics/Business
- Master’s Degree is preferable
Professional Qualifications
- CA, CFA or FRM (Desirable)
Work Experience
- Minimum 12 years work experience in banking/financial institutions with at least 5 years' experience in Investment Banking, with exposure to DCM, ECM, Syndications and Advisory.
- Deep expertise in domestic and regional financial markets, with strong relationships in the Financial Institutions, Corporates and regulatory bodies.
- Well-versed with local and international capital market standards, rules & regulations with track record of success in structuring and executing Investment Banking transactions
- Proven track record of successful transaction execution and client relationship management.
- Experience in a lead role in managing transactions and driving business growth.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding client portfolios
