Job Overview

Newland NPT is seeking experienced Android Development Engineers to support the company’s rapid expansion and growing demand for localized payment solutions across the APAC region.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Product Technology Center at HQ in China, you will collaborate closely with both the APAC regional team and the International Business Unit at headquarters to develop and deliver innovative payment applications and terminal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android software applications for the APAC market, including Android app development, payment SDK integration, transaction processing modules, and terminal adaptation.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance architectures, including coding, unit testing, and end-to-end solution delivery tailored to local payment scenarios.
• Work closely with HQ product, testing, operations, and engineering teams, as well as regional business stakeholders, to transform market requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system design specifications, implementation guides, and testing documentation.
• Monitor payment industry trends, local regulations, and compliance requirements across APAC markets to ensure product readiness and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on Android development experience; prior experience in payment-related projects (FinTech, POS systems, acquiring, or payment terminals) is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Android development using Java and/or Kotlin, with solid knowledge of Android architecture, SDK integration, and performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and international teams.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) as working languages.
