Design the product behind Australia's fastest-growing buyer's agency.
Moove is on a mission to help Aussies Buy Property Better - fixed pricing, proprietary data, and a tech platform that takes buyers from search to settlement in 38 days. We doubled revenue in 2025, landed #13 on the AFR Fast Starters list, and we're building something that looks a lot more like a proptech company than a traditional buyer's agency.
Now we need a dedicated product designer. Someone who designs, prototypes, and ships - and knows the difference between software that works and software that makes someone exhale.
The setup (read this first)
This is a small team job. There are two founders, a handful of engineers, a Marketing Coordinator, our buyer's agents in the market every day, and you. That's product design at Moove.
If you need a 12-person design org, a Head of Design above you, and a research team to validate every decision, this isn't for you. If the idea of owning the entire design function - from the buyer-facing platform to the internal tools our agents use every day - at a profitable scale-up that's already growing fast, keep reading.
You'll work directly with the founders and the engineering team. You'll sit in on customer calls. You'll have the rare thing most designers say they want: the air cover to actually go and do the considered work.
What you'll do
Own design quality across the product
- The buyer-facing platform (where clients track strategy, see properties, sign off on offers, watch their purchase progress)
- The internal tools our buyer's agents use every day
- The marketing site, the calculators, the readiness tools - every surface where someone touches Moove
- Catch what's inconsistent and fix it before it ships, don't file a ticket and wait
Design, prototype, and ship
- Work alongside engineers without handoffs - Figma when it's right, Cursor or Claude when it's faster, real PRs when polish shouldn't wait for a sprint
- Explore what modern property software should look and feel like, not just maintain what exists
- Build a design system as a floor, not a ceiling - components, tokens, and patterns that make consistency the default
Design for two sides of the same transaction
- The buyer doing this once in a decade, terrified and excited and outgunned
- The buyer's agent doing it ten times a week, drowning in spreadsheets, who needs a tool that's faster than the one they had at their last job
- Get both right and the whole business gets faster
Use AI like a designer, not a novelty
- We're unapologetically pro-AI. If Figma + Claude + Cursor + the next thing that drops next month gets you to a shippable prototype faster, that's the workflow we want
- Treat AI like a junior collaborator that never sleeps. First drafts in 10 minutes. Variants in 20. Polish in code instead of polish in slides.
- The goal isn't cheap output - it's leverage. You should be making better work than a team 3x your size.
Raise the bar
- Share work early, give honest critique, take honest critique
- Help the founders, engineers, and marketers see what good looks like
Who you are
You've done 5+ years in product design, ideally with both consumer and tool/internal-product experience. You've shipped real software end-to-end at a scale-up or in-house at a place that took craft seriously. You know what good looks like and you can make it happen without a committee.
You're genuinely tool-fluent. Not "I've heard of Cursor" - more "I rebuilt my workflow around it and can show you how." You've used AI to push real fixes, not just mockups, and you've got a strong opinion on where it helps and where it absolutely doesn't.
You can defend a design decision without referencing user testing. You can also tell when a decision genuinely needs a test, not a vibe.
When you see a broken pattern in production, you fix it. You don't file a ticket and wait.
Property experience is nice, not essential. Curiosity about how Australians make the biggest financial decision of their lives - that's the non-negotiable.
If any of these are 'no', this isn't the job
- Does inconsistent spacing in a shipped product genuinely bother you?
- Have you picked up a new tool in the last two weeks and gotten excited about it?
- Can you ship without a design system team, governance structure, and research coordinators at your beck and call?
- Does the prospect of turning the chaos of a property purchase into something quiet, precise, and beautiful make you feel fuzzy inside?
What's on offer
- Genuine ownership of the entire design function at a profitable, fast-growing Australian proptech
- Direct line to the founders - decisions get made in hours, not weeks.
- Competitive salary
- Hybrid working, and a team that ships
- A front-row seat - and a hand on the wheel - as we rebuild how Australians buy property
If you've been the second or third designer at a scale-up and you're ready to be the first - we should talk.
