A leading Asia‑focused buy‑side investment firm is seeking a senior Applied AI & Data leader to partner closely with Fundamental Equities and Macro Portfolio Management teams, helping translate investment insights into practical, production‑grade AI solutions.

This role sits at the intersection of AI architecture, applied execution, and investment decision‑making. The successful candidate will be technically grounded, highly pragmatic, and comfortable working directly with PMs in a fast‑paced hedge fund environment.

This is not a purely strategic or research role — They are looking for someone who can execute, deploy, and own outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Fundamental Equities and Macro PMs to understand investment workflows, signals, and decision points.
• Design and deliver applied AI solutions supporting equity research, macro analysis, forecasting, and portfolio decision‑making.
• Own the end‑to‑end AI architecture, including data pipelines, model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Stay current on modern AI techniques (ML, GenAI, agentic systems) and determine what to build vs buy.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to deliver scalable, production‑ready solutions.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership, with a strong bias toward execution and accountability.
• Contribute to defining the longer‑term AI and data roadmap, with potential to build out a dedicated team over time.

Candidate Profile

• Director level or above experience in Applied AI, Data, Quantitative Research, or Analytics leadership roles.
• Strong grounding in AI / ML architecture and applied execution (beyond conceptual strategy).
• Demonstrated experience working closely with Fundamental Equities and/or Macro investment teams.
• Prior experience in a hedge fund, buy‑side asset manager, or multi‑strategy platform.
• Solid understanding of equity fundamentals and/or macro investment strategies.
• Comfortable engaging senior PMs and investment leadership as a trusted technical partner.
• Pragmatic, delivery‑oriented mindset.
• Python‑based AI/ML background strongly preferred.
