About The Role

Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated OT/FMS Technology Technician to join our team, reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.

This is a residential position to be home every night, working on a lifestyle 4 x 12 hour dayshift only roster.

Responsibility of the role will be to assist with the maintenance and installation of infrastructure and systems which support the Fleet Management System (FMS) and other smart machine systems used on our operations, you will:

• Assist with installations on new machines
• Attend to OT system breakdowns / outages
• Carry out inspections and repairs during machine overhauls
• Perform system upgrades as required
• Monitor and Maintain site digital radio network
• Monitor and maintain Solar and Battery storage management systems
• Monitor and maintain site wireless network
• Monitor and maintain site GPS systems for mobile plant
• Assist IT system owners as required
• Monitor and maintain site camera systems
• Maintain site documentation for OT systems
• Work with Planning team to ensure site resources are efficient and effective
• Build close working relationships with equipment OEMs, Ivolve, CAT, Liebherr etc
  
  
  

About You

• Ideally you will have a trade qualification in:
• Electrical, with experience in the above areas, and Open cabling licence
  
  
  

Or in one of the following trades with a strong background in FMS and networking systems and hold an Open cabling licence:

• Auto electrician and Open cabling licence
• Electronics and Communications and hold an Open cabling licence.
  
  
  

Good knowledge of the following/similar systems will be highly desirable:

• Fleet Management Systems – ie Ivolve Mine 4D, Modular, Hexagon etc
• Terrain drill profiling data capture with GPS correction
• High Precision Global Positioning Systems
• Trimble GPS systems
• Video Cameras monitoring the open cut operations
• Cabled and Wireless networks and associated infrastructure – Ubiquiti, Cambium, Mesh
• DAMM and Sepura digital radio infrastructure
