This role is aimed at experienced technical leaders who want to drive systems, people, and high-level technical decisions — without primarily coding themselves day-to-day.

You will own the overall technical quality of our platform, coordinate engineering initiatives across teams, and act as a sparring partner for internal stakeholders and external partners such as banks, payment providers, and enterprise clients.

You combine technical depth with operational leadership, architectural thinking, and strong communication.

🎯 Your Responsibilities

· Own the overall technical strategy and system quality of the payever platform

· Drive technical decisions, architectural direction, and long-term scalability together with engineering teams

· Support engineering teams on delivery, prioritization, and technical challenges

· Lead technical conversations with banks, partners, and external engineering teams

· Analyze and continuously improve internal processes, system landscapes, and technical workflows

· Identify recurring operational or technical issues and establish sustainable solutions

· Act as the interface between Business, Product, and Engineering

· Define standards for documentation, technical processes, and collaboration

· Identify and address risks, technical debt, and scalability issues early

· Take technical ownership of complex integrations, APIs, and platform infrastructure

🧬 Your Profile

· Several years of experience as a Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or in a comparable technical leadership role

· Deep understanding of modern software architectures, APIs, and distributed systems

· Experience leading technical teams and cross-functional collaboration

· Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to business stakeholders and external partners

· Strong analytical and organizational skills

· High level of ownership and a structured way of working

· Experience in fintech, payments, or integration environments is a strong plus

· Excellent English (C1+) and German required
