About Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineers (SDE III) who will help us build high-impact systems from the ground up. You will work directly with the CTO, Principal Architect, and core leadership, owning architecture, design, infrastructure, and delivery.

This is a role for builders — engineers who thrive in ambiguity, take complete ownership, and enjoy solving deep technical challenges at scale. No micromanagement. Full autonomy and end-to-end responsibility.

Responsibilities

Lead Backend Development: Drive the development and maintenance of backend services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
Technical Leadership: Lead complex technical projects end-to-end with minimal guidance. Mentor SDE I/II engineers and elevate overall team capability
Demonstrate Expertise: Exhibit deep knowledge in your technical discipline, setting a high standard for others to follow.
Solution-Oriented Mindset: Proactively bring solutions to challenges, rather than just identifying problems.
Community Engagement: Actively participate in the technology community, enhancing GoComet’s reputation and helping to attract top talent to the team.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in backend development using one of Ruby, Python, or Node.js.
Strong background in building scalable and robust backend architecture
Strong knowledge of database management and architecture, with hands-on experience in Postgres or MongoDB.
Experience designing and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Understanding of server-side principles and the ability to write high-quality, testable, and reusable code.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Ability to work collaboratively in an agile development team and communicate effectively.
BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems like GIT.
Good communication and leadership skills
