About The Role

We're seeking an Applied ML Lead to spearhead the development of models that enhance our clinical products. Your primary focus will be on advancing speech-to-text capabilities for medical consultations in Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish, leveraging our unique data advantage. This role extends beyond ASR to include LLM fine-tuning and clinical classifiers, offering a dynamic and impactful opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage the speech-to-text stack from data curation to deployment, including training pipelines and fine-tuning.
• Develop a data flywheel to transform scribe-generated transcripts into a valuable training asset.
• Establish and maintain training infrastructure, including GPU orchestration and experiment tracking.
• Create evaluation frameworks that accurately reflect clinical performance.
• Collaborate with the AI team on LLM orchestration and classifier work for clinical tasks.
• Work with product and medical teams to align clinical and model requirements.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in training and operationalizing ML models from research to production.
• Strong understanding of modern ML infrastructure, including PyTorch and distributed training.
• Experience with ASR, speech models, or audio ML is highly desirable.
• Ability to build data pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and inference services.
• Independent problem-solving skills and pragmatic engineering decision-making.
• Curiosity about healthcare/clinical ML, though prior experience is not required.
