Your Role
As a Lead UI Engineer at Capgemini, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for web and mobile applications across diverse industries. You will combine deep technical expertise in front-end development with strong leadership skills, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative user interfaces. This position offers a dynamic work environment, blending time between Capgemini offices, client sites, and remote work (note: 100% remote is not available).

Your Role
As a Lead UI Engineer at Capgemini, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for web and mobile applications across diverse industries. You will combine deep technical expertise in front-end development with strong leadership skills, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative user interfaces. This position offers a dynamic work environment, blending time between Capgemini offices, client sites, and remote work (note: 100% remote is not available).
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of UI/front-end developers, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Set coding standards and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and high-quality deliverables.
- Provide technical direction and feedback, coordinating with designers, backend engineers, and QA teams for seamless releases.
- Define and implement robust UI architectures, reusable components, and scalable design patterns.
- Develop responsive, interactive, and high-performance user interfaces using modern frameworks.
- Ensure consistency across applications by leveraging design systems and component libraries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex UI issues related to performance, compatibility, and rendering.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to achieve pixel-perfect implementations.
- Translate business requirements into effective UI solutions in partnership with product managers.
- Participate in sprint planning and technical discussions, clearly communicating risks, timelines, and decisions to stakeholders.
- Champion accessibility (WCAG) and best-in-class UI practices.
- Optimize performance for faster load times and superior user experience.
- Support automated UI testing and contribute to CI/CD processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by adopting modern front-end technologies and innovative approaches.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Expertise in modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience with state management tools (Redux, MobX, NgRx, Vuex).
- Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with design systems (Material UI, Bootstrap, or custom libraries).
- Skilled with build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel, Node.js).
- Understanding of accessibility, SEO, security, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Proficient in Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Extensive background in UI/front-end development.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Adaptability to fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments.
