Senior AI Engineer

Tasks:

• Development and implementation of production-ready GenAI solutions, especially based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Building, operating and further developing scalable data pipelines, APIs and AI services
• Real-time integration of LLM-based applications into existing enterprise systems
• Collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists and DevOps teams to transform prototypes into production solutions
• Implementation of monitoring, observability and tracing mechanisms (e.g. OpenTelemetry, LLM tracing)
• Continuous fine-tuning, monitoring and optimization of GenAI models in a production environment
• Ensuring scalability, stability, security, and business alignment

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in a business engineering or comparable interface function between business and IT
• In-depth understanding of Generative AI and RAG architectures, as well as experience in prompt and context engineering.
• Practical experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangFuse and NeMo Guardrails (Spring AI is an advantage)
• Excellent knowledge of cloud engineering on Microsoft Azure, especially Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure App Service and Azure Container Apps
• Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and DevOps processes
• Solid experience in API development and the integration of AI/LLM models into production systems
• Knowledge of LLM Observability, Monitoring and OpenTelemetry
• Experience in building secure and scalable cloud architectures, including vNet, firewall, load balancer, and TLS/SSL and certificate management.
• Excellent programming skills in Python (very strong) and Java, supplemented by experience with NodeJS and Angular (optional) as well as scripting in Bash and PowerShell.
• Experience in test automation and continuous validation of AI and GenAI systems
• Basic understanding of statistics, feature engineering, and model evaluation
