Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of experience in payroll operations or payroll systems testing.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for payroll processes and workflows.
  • Perform functional, regression, SIT, UAT, parallel run validation, and end-to-end testing activities.
  • Validate payroll calculations including earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and garnishments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Test integrations between HRIS, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Finance systems.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, inconsistencies, and data-related issues through resolution.
  • Analyze payroll rules, configurations, and system logic to ensure reliable payroll processing.
  • Review and validate system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
  • Support payroll system setup, configuration changes, and data validation activities.
  • Collaborate with implementation leads and vendors throughout project phases.
  • Participate in design workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution review meetings.
  • Support go-live readiness activities and post-implementation validation processes.
  • Maintain detailed testing documentation, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
  • Prepare clear defect reports, retest results, and status updates.
  • Assist in creating SOPs for new payroll processes and system functionalities.
  • Hands-on experience with leading payroll platforms such as Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, UKG, Ceridian Dayforce, Strada, Mercans, Neeyamo, or Deel.
  • Strong exposure to system testing, UAT cycles, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxation, benefits, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze payroll data and validate complex payroll calculations.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with testing and defect management tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in multi-country or complex payroll environments.
  • Knowledge of change management practices and project lifecycle methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
