Position Description
Location: Toronto (Don Mills/Eglington)
Onsite: 3 days a week
CGI is seeking a highly technical Infrastructure Architect to lead Infrastructure-wide technology transformation initiatives within complex and evolving environments. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, modernization, cloud transformation, infrastructure engineering, customer success, and delivery excellence. You will collaborate with internal teams, client stakeholders, and delivery leaders to define technology strategy, architect scalable solutions, and guide the implementation of modern enterprise platforms and infrastructure.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, strong leadership capabilities, and exceptional communication skills. You will lead large-scale modernization programs, cloud and infrastructure transformations, migration initiatives, and enterprise architecture engagements while ensuring secure, scalable, and operationally stable solutions.
Success in this role requires hands-on technical leadership, experience with modern architectural patterns and cloud technologies, and the ability to bridge business objectives with practical technology solutions from strategy through execution.

You will collaborate closely with leadership, project, and operations teams to align technology solutions with strategic business objectives and operational priorities
- Act as a trusted strategic technology advisor to enterprise clients, translating business objectives into actionable IT strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee the design and delivery of Infrastructure architecture solutions spanning hybrid infrastructure (on-premises and cloud), cybersecurity, and application ecosystems.
- Develop and execute forward-looking roadmaps that drive infrastructure modernization, operational resilience, and scalable Infrastructure operations.
- Partner with executive client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define transformation strategies, cloud adoption and migration plans, and long-term technology frameworks.
- Promote innovation by advancing cloud-native architecture, automation initiatives, and modern engineering practices.
- Provide architectural governance and technical oversight to ensure solutions meet standards for security, performance, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Lead and support technical delivery, operations, and project teams while building client confidence through thought leadership and technical engagement.
- Facilitate technical design sessions, architecture reviews, risk assessments, and in-depth technical workshops to guide critical decision-making.
- Contribute to business development initiatives by shaping solution strategies, supporting proposals, and clearly articulating business value to prospective clients.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their relevance and potential impact within client environments.
- Represent CGI in executive briefings, strategic workshops, and industry engagements as a senior technology leader.
- On-call duties included for any major issues.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, consulting, or technical leadership within Infrastructure-scale IT environments.
- Proven ability to influence key technology decisions by providing expert guidance on infrastructure architecture, platform selection, and solution design, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
- Deep technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure, including data centers, cloud platforms, networking, virtualization, and hybrid IT environments.
- Proven track record of successfully collaborating large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, Windows and Linux server environments, and systems management.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network infrastructure and architecture.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery, cybersecurity, audits, compliance, and governance within regulated industries.
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to take initiative and lead technical discussions and engagements.
- Understanding of application architecture in conjunction with infrastructure architecture is considered an asset.
- Experience with or strong knowledge of BMC Helix and AIOps platforms is considered an asset.
- Experience with Nutanix and Rubrik technologies is considered an asset.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical disciplines such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant professional certifications in Infrastructure Architecture, TOGAF, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS are preferred.
