💻 Job Title: Web Developer

📍 Location: Calgary (Remote) Fully Remote role—Preference for Alberta based candidates.

⏳ Contract: 12 months (high likelihood of extension or permanent conversion)

Start Date: ASAP-----Hours: 40 hours/week

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and PHP
• Build and optimize GraphQL APIs for efficient data delivery
• Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP-based applications and services
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration and user experience
• Contribute to front-end development for customer-facing applications as needed
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance across applications
• Partner with technical leadership on solution design and implementation

✅ Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with PHP (core PHP and modern frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony)
• Solid experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs in PHP environments
• Strong experience with Node.js for backend development
• Experience working with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) in PHP applications
• Familiarity with MVC architecture, OOP principles, and secure coding practices in PHP
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
• Solid understanding of front-end development and integration

⭐ Nice to Have:

• Experience with eCommerce platforms or high-traffic web applications
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with performance optimization and caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)
