Who we are looking for?

We are seeking for an experienced and commercially driven Associate Project Manager specialised in Fit out projects to support and grow the Building & Project Consultancy department. This is a senior role combining business development, client relationship management, and technical oversight of complex real estate projects across multiple asset classes including commercial, residential, hospitality, logistics, and mixed-use developments.

The successful candidate will act as a key ambassador for Savills' project management services in Italy, supporting growth in line with the firm's BPC department strategy and delivering best-in-class outcomes for clients across the project lifecycle.

What you will be responsible for?

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for the Project Management division in Italy, aligned with Savills' BPC department objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of project managers.
  • Manage divisional P&L, set revenue targets, and ensure financial performance and profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of BPC department and with other Savills service lines (Capital Markets, Valuation, Property Management, Leasing) to deliver integrated solutions.


Business Development & Client Management

  • Drive business development activities including pitching, proposals, and contract negotiations with institutional investors, developers, occupiers, and public-sector clients.
  • Establish and nurture long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the investment and development lifecycle.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, emerging sectors, and strategic partnerships across Italy and pan-European portfolios.


Project Delivery & Technical Oversight

  • Provide senior oversight and quality assurance on a portfolio of concurrent projects from inception through to completion and handover.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, managing risk proactively throughout.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants.
  • Drive adoption of best practices, innovation, and digital tools (BIM, project controls, sustainability metrics) across the team.
  • Ensure full compliance with Italian and EU regulations, planning frameworks, health & safety legislation, and Savills' internal governance standards.


Reporting & Governance

  • Report directly to the Head of Building & Project Consultancy, ensuring full strategic, operational, and commercial alignment with departmental priorities and objectives.
  • Proactively share with the Head of Building & Project Consultancy updates on business development activities, project progress, key risks, and team initiatives, maintaining a common vision and enabling coordinated decision-making.
  • Actively contribute to the definition of the department's annual objectives, participating in strategic planning and budgeting processes in close collaboration with the department head.
  • Ensure consistency of methodology, quality standards, and commercial positioning of the Project Management team in line with the frameworks and guidelines set by the Head of Building & Project Consultancy.
  • Produce accurate project reporting, risk registers, financial forecasts, and board-level presentations, sharing these regularly with the department head.
  • Ensure full compliance with Savills' internal governance standards, in accordance with departmental expectations.



What other skills are essential to fit this role 100%?

Must have

  • Proven track record in senior project management roles within the real estate, construction, or built environment sector, with at least 12–15 years of professional experience.
  • Degree in Architecture or Engineering; MRICS, PMP, or equivalent professional accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, high-value real estate projects (€20M+) across multiple asset classes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with prior P&L responsibility and business development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Italian real estate and construction market, regulatory environment, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks, LEED/BREEAM certification processes, and sustainable construction practices.
  • Knowledge of BIM methodologies and digital project management platforms.
