Role/Title: Security Analyst- 5-10 Years

Mode of Hiring: Permanent

Location: Sydney

Job Description:

We are looking for a technically sharp and strategically minded Cyber Analyst to join the Data & Email Security team . This is a hands-on analytics and delivery role working across a portfolio of high-impact data security initiatives including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), controls uplift, and data security posture management.

You'll work at the intersection of data analytics and cyber security — turning security data into actionable insights, building dashboards that drive decision-making, and configuring controls that protect Optus's data assets at scale.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, automation, and security use cases
• Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar data platforms
• Advanced Power BI skills — building security-focused dashboards, data models, and executive reporting
• Solid understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with an engineering mindset
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview (data classification, DLP policies, analytics)
• Exposure to Zscaler, web proxies, and network security controls

Cyber & Security Knowledge

• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of cyber security principles, frameworks, and risk concepts
• Understanding of data security controls — DLP, access controls, classification, and data governance
• Ability to assess and articulate cyber risk in business terms
