Full Stack Engineer

Our client is a technology company building robust, scalable systems, comparable to leaders like MongoDB and HashiCorp. They are at an early stage and need a senior fullstack engineer to design and implement new products from the ground up. This role exists to drive architecture and hands-on development without reliance on established frameworks, targeting candidates who thrive in ambiguity and autonomy.

Priority will be given to candidates with the right to work in the UK.

🔧 Core expectation (what they really want)

A senior-level systems engineer (7+ years) who can:

• Build backend + frontend systems end-to-end
• Design distributed systems and architecture from scratch
• Make independent technical decisions without frameworks
• Work in high ambiguity, early-stage environment
• Own product development from concept → production

Critical requirements

Go is mandatory and central to the role. We are specifically looking for someone who:

• Has deep production Go experience
• Builds scalable backend systems in Go
• Understands Go in the context of: microservices, APIs, system design, cloud-native infrastructure
• Can use Go as the primary systems language, not just secondary tooling

Technical scope

You are expected to work across the full stack:

Backend (primary focus)

• Go-based microservices
• APIs and distributed systems
• Databases (SQL + NoSQL)
• Cloud infrastructure

Frontend (secondary but required)

• Ability to build interfaces when needed
• Not necessarily deep frontend specialization, but full ownership expected

Systems level

• Architecture design
• Performance optimization
• Scalability decisions
• Technology selection (no rigid stack)

• Built 0→1 products in startups
• Worked without rigid frameworks
• Golang hands-on experience
• Shipped systems independently end-to-end
• Strong polyglot engineering ability
• Experience choosing and integrating technologies into production
• Comfortable in remote EU-based distributed teams

• Built products from scratch in early-stage startups
• Designed system architecture independently
• Deep Go production experience
• Experience with distributed systems / microservices
