Senior Project Manager – Banking and Waterfall Delivery

urgent requirement for Senior Project Manager – strong Banking and Waterfall Delivery exp is required for our banking clients in Oman

Strong experience End-to-end delivery using Waterfall methodology only is THE Must
Strong experience in banking projects (core banking, regulatory, or transformation) is the MUST
Strong experience in PMO / Multi-Project Management ,Managing multiple projects is MUST
Strong Banking domain is MUST
Strong experience in Senior Stakeholder Management Experience with steering committees, business heads and vendors. the MUST

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple concurrent Business and IT projects within a banking environment, ensuring governance, control, and alignment with organizational objectives. The role requires strong expertise in Waterfall project management methodology, with proven experience in managing complex banking transformation, regulatory, and process improvement initiatives.

The incumbent will coordinate across multiple teams, ensure timely execution of project deliverables, and provide consistent and accurate status updates to senior stakeholders and governance committees.

Principal Accountabilities

Project Governance & Control

Define and implement project control frameworks including processes, procedures, reporting standards, and governance structures.
Ensure adherence to PMO standards and organizational project management methodologies (Waterfall mandatory).
Ensure all project documentation complies with internal governance and audit requirements.

Project Planning & Execution

Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverable tracking mechanisms.
Monitor end-to-end project progress across multiple parallel initiatives.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and agreed quality standards.

Budget & Financial Management

Manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and cost control.
Ensure financial governance and proper utilization of allocated resources.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues proactively.
Implement mitigation and corrective action plans.
Manage change requests and ensure proper impact assessment and approvals.

Stakeholder Management

Manage communication and expectations of key stakeholders including:
Project Sponsors
Steering Committees
Business Heads
IT Leadership
Provide timely updates, dashboards, and executive reports.

Cross-Project Coordination

Manage interdependencies across multiple projects.
Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment and avoid conflicts.
Ensure consistency of deliverables across programs.

Governance & Reporting

Conduct and facilitate Project Steering Committee meetings and Working Group sessions.
Provide structured, regular project status reports to PMO and senior management.
Ensure escalation of critical risks and unresolved issues in a timely manner.

Vendor & Third-Party Management

Manage vendor engagement including RFPs, evaluations, contract negotiations, and delivery oversight.
Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and SLAs.

Regulatory & Compliance Coordination

Liaise with regulators, auditors, and compliance bodies as required.
Ensure all project deliverables meet banking regulatory and audit standards.
