About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Infrared Management Aid (IRMA) team located in Berkeley, MO. This role is integral to supporting Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The successful candidate will be involved in developing innovative infrared (IR) and mission planning software solutions, contributing to complex projects that require ingenuity and technical expertise. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technology, collaborating with a talented team of engineers to deliver solutions that meet stringent industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with at least five years of experience programming in C++. Experience with multi-threaded development, Agile methodologies, and real-time software development is essential. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance and have a strong background in software engineering, ideally with experience in GPU architecture, CUDA C/C++, and performance optimization. An active security clearance such as Top Secret is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead junior engineers, and communicate effectively across teams is highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and integrate IR and mission planning software applications for embedded and simulated environments, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with project leads and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage multiple parallel tasks in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and effective time management.
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering high-quality results.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Develop use cases and technical documentation to support software requirements and design specifications.
- Implement algorithms developed in MATLAB into C++ software, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and technical innovation within the team.
