The Position
As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Ground Segment Software Engineer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Luxembourg.
In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain mission-critical software used for spacecraft monitoring and commanding. You will contribute directly to mission operations by developing and evolving the Mission Control System and related Ground Segment services.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining the Mission Control System (MCS), ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with mission requirements
- Implementing new Ground Segment software modules using Java and Python
- Supporting the development of Mission Operations subsystems, including:
- CFDP-based file management chains
- Automated ingestion and archiving of image and binary data
- Workflow automation for telemetry processing and command preparation
- Collaborating with system engineers to ensure requirements traceability and robust software design
- Debugging and optimising critical Ground Segment services to ensure operational readiness
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation, configuration files, and operational procedures
- Participating in technical reviews, design discussions, and mission readiness activities
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of mission operations software and automation capabilities
Your Profile
- You have an experience in Aerospace industry
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python
- Good understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, documentation, and maintainability
- Experience developing distributed systems or mission-critical software applications
- Familiarity with Linux environments and standard development toolchains
- Experience with SQL databases, schema design, or operational data layers is a plus
- Knowledge of Ground Segment telemetry and telecommand (TM/TC) chains is an asset
- Familiarity with CCSDS standards such as CFDP (File Delivery Protocol) and PUS (Packet Utilisation Standard) is a strong advantage
- Understanding of telemetry processing, command pipelines, or mission control architectures is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in complex technical environments
- Team-oriented, with good communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in English; French B2 is considered an asset
