We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a Federal Government Department, DevOps Engineers are central to ensuring the efficient, automated, and reliable deployment of integration solutions across the AEC’s diverse landscape of enterprise applications. They are responsible for the end-to-end management of CI/CD pipelines, with a primary focus on automating deployment processes for integration solutions including the integration and management of automated testing in pipelines to enhance software quality and reliability.
Key duties and responsibilities
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Working effectively with the technical teams such as development teams and DevOps teams.
- Establishing and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines, repositories, and artefacts.
- Ensuring that cloud platforms are current in their toolsets, resilient, secure and automated wherever possible.
- In collaboration with other teams in the work area, investigating and resolving complex issues with the operation of an application.
- Ensuring deadlines are consistently met and that a high standard of technical and design documentation is provided.
- Assisting with cloud-first deployment pipeline development.
- Creating and overseeing processes that manage the delivery pipeline from development through to production.
- Working with project and operational teams to orchestrate delivery pipelines across design, build, test, deploy and run.
- Implementing continuous improvements, strategy, and best practice development in the CI/CD environment.
- Performing additional responsibilities as required and directed by the relevant Director/Team Leaders or a delegate
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Strong familiarity with cloud platforms, with an emphasis on Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable criteria
- Advanced scripting skills using PowerShell.
- Proficiency in Git, YAML, ARM, Bicep and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Knowledge of security testing tools and practices, particularly SAST and DAST.
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Micro Focus Fortify, SailPoint, Service Now, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
