Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Naval Gun Java Engineer (FüWES). This role is essential for the development and integration of the command and fire control systems for the F126 ships, a premier project for the German Navy.

Job Purpose

The Naval Gun Java Engineer is a critical member of the software engineering team dedicated to the FüWES (Führungs- und WaffenEinsatzSystem) project. The primary goal is to develop and expand a high-stakes command system that integrates TACTICOS with advanced Fire Control solutions. By contributing to the full development lifecycle—from concept to onboard delivery—you ensure that German Navy Defense Operators receive mission-critical information in real-time, enabling life-saving decisions within seconds.

Responsibilities:

• Full-Lifecycle Development: Execute the complete software development cycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, testing, and validation.
• Agile Collaboration: Work within a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team to deliver features while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
• System Integration: Collaborate with System Engineers and Software Architects to translate complex requirements into robust Java-based code for naval defense applications.
• Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing (JUnit), test automation, and behavior-driven development using Cucumber to ensure system reliability.
• DevOps Integration: Utilize a modern development stack including Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, and Git/BitBucket to support Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD).
• Security & Safety: Prioritize security protocols and safety-critical coding practices essential for naval defense environments.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience: At least 5 years of recent, relevant professional experience in Java development.

Technical Proficiency: * Strong command of Java within a Linux environment.

• Experience with IntelliJ, Maven, and Git.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills: A passionate team player with a talent for rapidly mastering new technical domains and a desire to contribute to a safe and secure society.

Language & Residency: * English proficiency is required; Dutch language skills are not mandatory.

• Must be eligible to work in the EU and pass necessary security clearances.
