Research Engineer

We are looking for a Research Engineer / Scientist to undertake research in sonar and water drone technology. This would involve developing signal processing algorithms, developing simulations tools and designing experiments for validation. This role is focused not only on technical implementation, but also on research leadership - active collaboration within the R&D team, the academic community and the ability to translate scientific insights into practical product applications.

AS OUR RESEARCH ENGINEER YOU WILL

• Develop, test and optimize signal processing algorithms for ultrasonic and other sensor data.
• Develop simulation tools and design experiment setups.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept activities for future product capabilities.
• Investigate technical challenges, evaluate potential solutions and contribute to practical product-oriented improvements.
• Collaborate closely with embedded software, electronics, mechanical and systems engineers to ensure technical solutions can be implemented in current and future products.
• Support research and development initiatives under the mentorship of the Embedded Team Lead and CTO.

WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE

• Background in engineering or physics or mathematics or related fields
• Experience with development of signal processing pipelines for time-domain data.
• Strong Python, MATLAB or other programming language for simulation and/or data processing purposes
• Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and transfer ideas to different domains.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to different audiences.
• Experience with embedded software development is an advantage

SALARY

Fixed part of the salary depending on work experience: 3500-4200 EUR gross + annual bonuses.
