Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We’re looking for an AI Engineer with a strong background in computer vision, multimodal AI, and edge AI deployment. You will work on segmentation, detection, and reasoning models that run directly on robots powered by Jetson devices, helping ZYGOS better understand, navigate, and interact with complex real-world environments. The role is highly hands-on, outcome-driven, and offers the opportunity to grow into an AI lead at ZYGO.

What you will do

• Design, train, and optimize AI models for semantic segmentation, object detection, scene understanding, and multimodal reasoning in robotics applications.
• Deploy and optimize AI workloads on edge hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson, with a strong focus on latency, robustness, power efficiency, and real-world reliability.
• Convert, accelerate, and optimize deep learning models using modern GPU inference frameworks and tooling.
• Build multimodal AI pipelines combining vision, speech, and language understanding for autonomous robot behavior and reasoning.
• Develop data pipelines, synthetic data workflows, evaluation suites, and simulation environments to improve real-world AI performance.
• Work on perception systems for terrain understanding, obstacle detection, object recognition, navigation support, and environmental awareness.
• Collaborate closely with robotics, simulation, embedded, and cloud engineers to deliver production-ready AI systems.

What you bring

• Strong practical experience with deep learning for computer vision, perception, or multimodal AI.
• Experience with semantic segmentation, object detection, visual reasoning, or multimodal understanding.
• Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating modern AI models end-to-end.
• Experience deploying and optimizing AI inference on GPU-based edge devices.
• Solid Python skills and familiarity with modern AI tooling and GPU acceleration frameworks.
• Understanding of dataset creation, benchmarking, evaluation metrics, and automated testing for AI systems.
• A strong hands-on mindset and the ability to rapidly turn ideas into working systems.
• Interest in robotics, autonomous systems, and Physical AI.
