Full Stack Engineer

VALE Partners have been engaged by a rapidly growing Australian SaaS company to find a Senior Full Stack Engineer for their product engineering team. They are at an exciting point in their evolution, investing heavily in how they build and ship software, and want a senior engineer who brings both strong fundamentals and a genuine curiosity about where the craft is heading. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who wants to own problems end-to-end, not just tickets.

Role Overview

• Design and build scalable web applications working across a Laravel backend and Vue 3 frontend, owning features end-to-end from concept through to production deployment.
• Contribute to architecture decisions alongside the Tech Lead, including API design and service boundaries across a growing SaaS platform.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across the stack, maintaining a high bar for code quality, test coverage, and long-term codebase health.
• Leverage AI tooling as part of how you work day-to-day, and contribute to embedding those practices more broadly across the engineering team.

What You'll Ideally Have

• Strong hands-on experience with PHP (Laravel) and Vue.js (preferably Vue 3), with a track record of delivering production-quality features in a SaaS or product engineering environment.
• A strong foundation in API design, database optimisation, and scalable architecture across a SaaS platform.
• The engineering fundamentals to assess code quality and architectural fit with confidence, and the judgment to know when something needs to be done properly versus done quickly.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or Cursor) as a genuine part of how you build software, not just as an autocomplete shortcut.
