Web Developer (Project-based)

About the Role

We are looking for a Web Developer (remote) to build a professional external website for a high-impact, research-based tool used by government authorities and academic institutions in Sweden. This is a 4 months project based role.

The primary goal is to transform complex scientific data into a clear, accessible information platform. You will be responsible for designing and developing a user-friendly site with CMS tool which allows the client to independently create, edit, and publish content via a user-friendly interface for non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Implement a user-friendly CMS (e.g., WordPress) allowing non-technical users to independently manage and publish content.
• Create the visual identity of the site, including custom icons, UI components (buttons, menus), and simple pedagogical illustrations.
• Develop and implement simple interactive visualizations to explain complex research concepts (educational focus, not analysis tools).
• Propose and execute a sustainable, long-term technical architecture that is easy to maintain without vendor lock-in.
• Ensure the platform is fully responsive and strictly adheres to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with WordPress or an equivalent professional CMS.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance.
• Expertise in building seamless experiences across mobile, tablet, and desktop.
• Ability to ensure the solution handles no personal data and complies with GDPR.
• Advanced level of English to communicate in global work environment
