The Role

  • Develop concepts for a university bibliography, publication server, and research data repository using DSpace as the base technology.
  • Design and implement workflows for submissions and publications, including post-processing.
  • Define and implement role-based access control mechanisms.
  • Design and develop various views and statistics for publications.
  • Integrate the system with different data suppliers and consumers via standard interfaces (e.g., OAI, SWORD, OpenAIRE, OpenAlex, CrossRef).
  • Develop a production and maintenance concept for the systems.
  • Migrate existing data into new systems and transition to production.

What You'll Need

  • Completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Library Informatics, Digital Humanities, or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of practical experience in software development.
  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Python, with good knowledge of the other language.
  • Excellent skills in JavaScript and HTML.
  • Solid understanding of Linux environments.
  • Experience with search technologies (e.g., Apache Solr, VUFind).
  • Fundamental knowledge of relational database systems.
  • Basic understanding of Linked Open Data and Semantic Web (RDF, Triple Stores).
