Microservice Java Developer

We are hiring Microservice engineers across mid-level to senior staff level with experience in working in the IT and services industry. You will be working with dynamic teammates on developing capabilities utilizing both serverless and containers to deploy highly available services meant for our banking products and operations. The services are developed using spring boot, using native services from AWS such as EKS, API Gateway and hosts a Kafka distributed streaming platform.

We expect you to be a high performing, free thinking individual who is not afraid of asking questions. Challenge the status quo with your experience not only in development but design and your experiences from past projects. You need to be a team player, support your team members and business owner. Note that the job posting is meant for multiple positions on different levels. We will calibrate level through the process of recruitment.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: We are primarily looking for candidates who can be onsite here at our head office, Malmö Sweden. For senior level, we are also open to remote within the countries where IKANO Bank has offices (Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Finland, Norway).

Responsibilities of the Job

• Maintaining quality by ensuring thoroughness during development phases of microservice design, build, test, and maintain (focusing on automation)
• Work with APIs, integrations, background jobs, and data flows
• Undertake code reviews. Implementing non-functional requirements
• Security is taken seriously since it’s a bank and should always be in focus & priority
• Take or call for actions when quality flaws are discovered
• To develop and manage the products & services according to AWS well architected framework & internal processes.

For senior roles

• contributing to cloud architecture and platform decisions
• Engage with business to understand their tactical and strategic roadmap and ensure a culture of quality and security by design.
• Accountable for the solution design is reviewed, approved following the enterprise guidelines.
• Mentoring junior developers

Education Level

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. We care more about your ability to think, build, learn, and contribute.

Experience / Demonstrated Competencies

• Extensive hands-on experience in Java, RESTful microservices using Spring Boot.
• Advanced knowledge in designing and implementing API's for customer facing applications (Mobile, Web) or backend services. For example, REST (Swagger or OpenAPI) and async API's (Apache Kafka).
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing KAFKA events.
• String experience in configuring and implementing AWS cloud services
• Experience with monitoring tools like ELK/Prometheus/Grafana preferred
• Knowledge around AI and GenAI
• Added AdvantageExperience in Core Banking, fintech, or other regulated environments platform (e.g. Cards, Loans, Deposits)
• Knowledge on origination business process flow and business logic
• General DevSecOps Experience a plus

Language Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Salary (per annum)

Compensation will be aligned to level, scope, and location, and will be discussed early in the process.
